A fast reader or a slow reader? I am a bit of both, actually. I can read really fast if I find the book is very interesting. I will hardly want to put the book aside and prefer to read it even after midnight. And If I find the book is not that interesting, I can read really slow, by means months of reading just one book only.
“Books are the plane, and the train, and the road. They are the destination and the journey. They are home.” – Anna Quindlen
The fastest book that I have ever read is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Well, perhaps I’ve read more books that perhaps faster than Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but for a book that thick, I think it’s the fastest book that I’ve read anyway. Seriously, Harry Potter is just magnificent. I am not even asking why the books are very popular because the story is very very much interesting. Harry Potter series is indeed one of the best books ever exist. My love of reading novels is also started the moment my parents bought me Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Ever since then, I’ve fallen in love with reading novels completely. So yeah, Harry Potter does have a huge role in taking part of making my favourite hobby.
Anyway, let’s get back on track. I can read 2-3 books in a week when I am really into reading and have no other thing to do. But recently, I have become a slow reader due to so many things that I have to do. However, I am trying to improve my reading since there are so many other books that I haven’t read at all, and stubbornly—I think—I keep buying new books, despite telling myself to stop buying new books. I think I should change my habit of buying books too often before all of my unread novels have been read—at least most of them.
“Books are uniquely portable magic.” – Stephen King
“I love books, I love that moment when open one and sink into it, you can escape from the world, into a story that’s way more interesting than yours will ever be.” – Elizabeth Scott
This year, I promise I will read more and finish at least most of my novels as soon as possible. I also promise to write more, either in this blog or for my stories. Wish me luck, guys! 😄
